Originally from the Czech Republic, Jana has a diverse educational background with training as a teacher for middle and high school from the University of Ostrava. Additionally, Jana holds an MEng in Environmental Engineering from the Technical University of Ostrava, with a specialisation in chemistry, mathematics, physics, and toxicology.

Before joining ISS Madeira, Jana gained valuable experience as a high school teacher in a private institution. Jana’s teaching approach is modern and creative, with a strong emphasis on inquiry-based learning to foster student engagement and understanding.

Besides teaching, Jana supervises the student council and leads a yoga club for girls. She has also participated in professional development, including IB DP workshops in chemistry and TES courses.
