Job Description

The International Sharing School – Madeira is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Portuguese Teacher to join our international team from August 2026. We offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), and Diploma Programme (DP).

The successful candidate will teach Portuguese using a communicative, student-centred approach and ensuring that students meet the required national learning outcomes for Portuguese language education.

Requirements

  • Recognised teaching qualification and certification.
  • Degree in Portuguese Language, Portuguese Literature, Education.
  • Experience teaching Portuguese to native and/or additional language learners.
  • Strong understanding of student-centred and communicative language teaching methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Fluency in Portuguese

Desirable

  • Experience in an international school environment.
  • Knowledge of or interest in the IB programmes.
  • Experience teaching students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
