Afonso Franco graduated in Sports Sciences and holds a Master’s degree in Physical Education Teaching from the University of Porto. He has been teaching for over ten years, one at a Portuguese School and nine years at International Sharing School – Madeira. Following several years teaching PYP and MYP, he is now prepared to teach SEHS in DP, and in 2024, he took on the new role of MYP Coordinator.

Beyond the classroom, Afonso Franco is a certified Cancer Exercise Specialist and Personal Trainer and teaches Personal Trainers across the country biomechanics and Exercise for Cancer patients. He hosts a monthly TV segment about Clinical Exercise on a local TV channel.
