Katie Ruiz is originally from Plymouth, England, and holds a Bachelor of Education degree as well as a TEFL certificate. She has over 10 years of experience teaching in top international schools in Qatar, South Korea, and the USA. These experiences have given her a strong global perspective, which she brings into the classroom to celebrate diversity and connect learning to the wider world. Katie has a passion for fostering curiosity, creativity, and independence in her students through engaging, inquiry-based learning, and she enjoys supporting children as they grow both academically and personally.

Katie is excited to be part of the International Sharing School – Madeira community and looks forward to exploring all that the island has to offer. Outside of school, Katie Ruiz enjoys reading, discovering new places with her family, relaxing at nearby coffee shops, and going for walks.
